We are excited to let you know that we will have a JMU student shadowing Misty and Maya on Tuesdays throughout the fall. Elizabeth Philpott provided us with the following bio to let us all know a little more about herself and why she is joining us.
“Hi! My name is Elizabeth Philpott, but I go by Liz. I am an RN and Have been a nurse for 4 years at RMH on the heart floor. I take care of patients with heart attacks, heart failure and other heart conditions. I graduated in 2012 from Liberty University in Lynchburg and am currently back in school at JMU for my MSN. I will graduate this coming May with a Nurse Practitioner degree if all goes well. I have been married for 4 years to my husband Sean. He works in Harrisonburg as a financial adviser for Edward Jones. We don’t have any children yet, but we do have a puppy named Ellie who is full of sass and funny faces. I will be doing some clinical rotations at Brookhaven to familiarize myself with women’s health and prenatal care. This is not an area I have ever worked in so this will be an excellent learning opportunity for me! I appreciate the opportunity to work with the midwives here and learn from you as clients. Thank you so much for your willingness to teach me!
Liz Philpott, RN.”
We look forward to introducing Liz to the Midwifery Model of Care and the world of birth centers.
